Love this place! However, a few things need a bit tweaking... The decor is great, well-designed and very clean. Wait service is top notch. Even the music is good (for a change) and low enough to enjoy it but not have to fight it for a conversation. And, the meats & sauces are delicious - very good BBQ. We also enjoyed the cornbread muffin. Now, I prefer mine without sugar, but this one is done very well. But, here's the prob. The sides need some attention! The green beans with bacon are dry, limp, tough and tasteless. The "creamy" coleslaw is way too creamy - too much mayonnaise! And, the garlic potatoes will definitely keep the vampires away - whoa, garlic breath!!! The potatoes are actually very tasty, but just a tad bit too much of nature's healing garlic. So, with that said, we will return as we have found it hard to find good BBQ in The Springs and this is a notch above most. Just work on those sides - PLEASE! :)

This place has a pretty easy going vibe. The food was outstanding. The smoked ribs were perfect, cornbread was fantastic, and the booths were pretty good size and comfortable. Overall, the food was impeccable and the service was decent. If you're looking some good BBQ in Colorado, I definitely recommend Famous Dave's!

When we get there the wait staff was nice but where they sat us at was a little crowed. When ordered drinks and my girlfriends was watered down and not very good we told the waiter about it and he had the bar tender make a new one but it was the same. Then the brought out our food and mine was totally wrong so my girlfriend had wanted to wait for my food to come. When we got the food hers and my ribs were burnt and super tuff to even eat tried to tell the waiter about it but he was no where to be found. Really this is how you serve food..

Here it goes I'm on the scene. Plenty of parking and it's 1:35 pm Friday 13th. Once in inside had a kid Greet and showed our table and soon the waitress was on the scene getting our drinks and order, was quick. About 15 minutes the food looks great. Mac n cheese is great, muffin :), corn and brisket no regrets. Waitress was there every time we needed something. Recommend coming in when no crowd you'll have a pleasant experience.

We had a large group on a Sunday evening and waited about an hour to sit down. The server assigned to our table was new and slow, but very sweet and really did her best to make everyone happy. My problem, was that most everyone that went to dinner with us this particular visit got very sick that night and the next day. Was it food poisoning? I don't know... Was it something that wasn't clean? I don't know that either... What I do know is that when we called the Manager to let him know the problems we experienced he basically said it didn't matter. He informed us we should've gone to the ER if we wanted him to care. It was pretty unfortunate because none of us were angry, and none of us really wanted anything except a response that befitted a manager. I'm not sure I want to come back to this restaurant again but hopefully our experience will help reduce any further similar incidents.

11/9 family in town, chose Dave's as I went to the one in MN at mall of America. Sat with family in bar area. Great atmosphere. Folks at table behind us unhappy though. Found out why shortly. Waiter showed up only after I stared at him to ask who was our server as no one said " boo" to us. He got our drink order, ten minutes later ( drinks sat at bar) got drinks. Food ordered. Hubby and I split order. Really? You can't afford to give 2 corn muffins? Brisket dry, came on old tough bread. Fatty pork. Daughter's rib tips were yum though. Husband ordered another beer before dinner. Showed up after dinner. Which he told waiter " we're ready to leave. Take it back." Manager showed up to ask how our dinner was and promptly dumped all plates he was clearing on hubby' s lap. OMG. No compensation. No apologies. Waiter awful. Manager awful. Surprised still open.

oh. my. goodness.. this place was so good.. great bbq and atmosphere. i got ribs and brisket with two sides.. all my food was delish. my only complaint about my dish was the ribs were, a little fatty. but everything else was great.... my husband had ribs and chicken tenders, his ribs were a little fatty as well, and his mashed sweet potatoes were missing, some sweetness.. but he loved the meat! there are about 6 different sauces, they are pretty good, its not the greatest ever but i am for sure a fan, and will be back.

Dave isn't famous enough that I've heard of him, but he deserves to be! Mom had a work party at the house and got the food at Famous Dave's. She had lots of leftovers, which made an appearance at the weekend BBQ. NOM! nom nom nom nom nom! Effing NOM! We had plans to eat dinner in Manitou on Sunday, but I just wanted to go home and make me another pulled pork sandwich. And that's just what I did. The pork was meaty. The sauce was spicy. My fingers smelled of smoked meat for hours afterwards, I was afraid to wash my hands. The little cornbread muffins were good as well, very similar to the recipe my grandfather used to make in Texas.

We dine here several times a year, and it's my son's favorite restaurant. We order the BBQ Feast each time we're here: brisket, ribs, chicken and sides ... and it's more than enough for 3 hungry people. Food is consistently good and the service has always been friendly.

We tried this for the first time. Pleasantly surprised at the variety and hunting lodge atmosphere. We thought it was better than nearby Bird Dog. The catfish, brisket and ribs were very good. Very clean also. No dirt on the floor. The waitress explained everything since we were first-timers there. We will definitely be back. The bread pudding is awesome and big enough for two.

Pros: good BBQ ribs, rib tips, chicken and onion rings. Freshly baked corn bread muffins (sweet type). Cons: kids mac and cheese was the Kraft instant type, but more tasteless than usual and the mashed potatoes were gluey. We returned the kids meal 99% uneaten since it was inedible, but the waiter did not take it off the bill. The server forgot to bring corn bread until we asked, nearly at the end of our meal. He didn't even apologize, said that they had just made a fresh batch and asked if we still wanted it. DUH, it's supposed to be included with the meal. Too much mayo in the cole slaw. Food overall was way too salty. Although the BBQ items were good, we wouldn't return here to eat.

I always enjoye eating here at Famous Dave's. Like other times I have visited the staff is always happy and seem to enjoy what they do. The food so far has always been on point and tasty!!

This is one of my favorite places for lunch if I feel like having a big one. They have a big variety of bbq items on the menu including catfish. Even if you don't feel like bbq, they have baked potato combos which are just about the right size. I'm not really a big fan of corn muffins, but the ones they provide here are pretty moist and tasty.

Famous Dave's just isn't so famous to me. I wasn't impressed my first visit, but I thought I'd give them another try and still I'm not impressed. The service was friendly but on the lazy side...we had to ask every time we needed a refill, there was seven of us so it was a lot of asking. The food was mediocre to me, I just don't get the great reviews. I feel I'm being generous with 3* because honestly I don't think I'll ever go back.

It's all right for a chain. Whenever I go it is very loud. Food okay although the ribs aren't the greatest for what you pay. Service generally very good.

Much more pleasant visit this time. I'd recommend coming here in the winter or very early spring as I did not see a single fly this time! I had the feast for one which is really enough for a feast for two. However, if you order a feast for two you're not going to get a feast for one :-)

I went to Famous Dave's since I had frequented their Puyallup, Washington location in the past and hadn't been disappointed. The interior is their standard fare, hostess, bar and tables throughout. I opted to sit right off of the main bar area. I ordered the Beef Brisket dinner which comes with a cornbread muffin and two sides of your choosing. I choose Wilbur's beans and sweet corn as my sides. I especially like the fact you are given a plate upon your server arriving at your table to squirt out the various different BBQ sauces to sample before you settle on a particular sauce. The cornbread muffin was a little too sweet but had a good flavor. It was stickier than expected, probably from the amount of sweetener added. The beef brisket was sliced medium and served on a slice of toasted texas toast. The beef brisket slices had a thick edge of fat - over half of each slice. When the server inquired, I expressed disappointment in the amount of fat on the beef. She let me know, "they have had a problem with that today", but gladly took my plate back to the kitchen. It made me wonder why, if they knew there was a problem, they would continue to serve it. The replacement wasn't much better. Although very lean with little, if any, fat, it was extremely tough and dry as though it hadn't been cooked enough or properly. The longer I chewed it, the bigger it got! I had the feeling that if your didn't stick with the fat laden beef, you are punished with leather tough beef. Big thumbs down. The side of corn consisted of corn on the cob pieces and although looked a little banged up, was very good - crunchy and sweet, without drowning in butter or dried out. The beans were the hit. Baked with diced pork, and shredded beef, not overly sweet, not too vinegary and not spicy. The brisket is dumpster material, while the corn muffin is also a pass. The corn is a thumbs up, and the beans are two thumbs up. The server is to be applauded. She was pleasant, professional and very prompt. The cost of my meal was $18.81 including an iced tea ad tax.

Good Bbq for a commercial restaurant bbq. Great drinks fun atmosphere great service. My only complaint I ordered the burnt ends appetizer, anyone Who makes their own barbecue or has been to a good backyard barbecue knows what burnt ends are. This place is serving you fatty pieces of brisket covered in barbecue sauce, i'm not saying that it wasn't good in fact I ate it all. Just wasn't what I know burnt ends to be.

I could be tired. I could be hungry, or this really could be some if the best flippin BBQ I've ever tasted. And, don't forget the cocktails! I could smell the tequila in my cocktail from 20 paces. Make sure you ask for Cassie

Normally a big fan but this is not a high-quality FD's. The waiter worked hard but the rest of the wait staff was pretty disorganized - no real sign of management anywhere. The food was okay but they can do much better. Dorked my order up too.

We love Famous Dave's in Colorado Springs! We first discovered them at the Taste Of Colorado event last year & loved the food so much we had to find one near us. Delicious barbecue & great help. I love the atmosphere & the decor makes me feel like I'm a kid at summer camp or a family cabin for the summer. This is definitely a must in the Colorado Spring area. We quickly abandoned our former favorite barbecue restaurant for Famous Dave's.

Went here because I had always wanted to try out Famous Dave's to see what makes them so 'Famous'. The service was really good and the Resturaunt was clean. It was a little dark, but I digress. The food did not disappoint. We had a variety of items, ribs, brisket, tips, pork and it was all very good. The sauces were good ranging from regular sweet to 'Devil's Spit' hot and I enjoyed them all. The sides were good. Price was not bad for what you get, we did not leave hungry. Gotta try the bread pudding for desert, it was outstanding!

Great Texas-style BBQ, not quite as good as the real deal (as a Texan, I can tell the difference) but still delicious. I got what I believe were called "Burnt Ends" or something like it, which are fatty chunks of brisket that are caramelized in their signature BBQ sauce. It was pretty tasty! Their corn bread was tha bomb!! Our server, Famous Kyle, was super sweet and attentive. I'd go back there again.

I had family in from out of state, and we took them to Famous Dave's. They LOVED it! I have eaten there several times, and I've never had anything bad...I like some of their menu items better than others, but it's impossible to try all of the combinations, from types of meat to the sauce you use on it. Can't wait to go back, but we live down south, so it makes it more difficult to get up there!

Everyone I know who's eaten here loves it... However as a chain, they could definitely work on providing better options for the celiac. My husband and I wanted to enjoy what he considered the best bbq he'd ever had in a franchise... My husband was recently diagnosed as celiac and the only things he could eat were sides and chicken wings. None of the salads were even wheat free! The manager brought us an allergen menu and then disappeared; we had to ask or server why the only bbq on the allergen menu wasn't on our menus and he said that they had discontinued it. ... I'm fairly certain that if they used a wheat free soy sauce in their marinade, celiacs could eat bbq like a normal person. Consider pushing that to the guys in the corporate kitchen... Having a medical condition should not be an excuse to exclude someone and make them eat fried chicken wings while serving others luscious racks of ribs. On a positive note, or service was excellent up until we left for lack of edibles.

We've been to Famous Dave's twice and now I'm writing a review. Okay so the food is really good...the first time we all got something different...2 meat plate, just chicken, just ribs and a couple of other entrees. The second time we got the FEAST! That was more than enough food for 5 of us. We've had very good experiences both times that we've been. The waitresses have been very accommodating and courtesy especially to the kids when we've been. Definitely try this place out if you have a taste for BBQ!

I've been here 3 times. Every time the food is on point! That means it's very good. I didn't care for the mac-n-cheese and the sweet tea never comes like a sweet tea should but that's just preference. The wait staff is good and the food is good. What more can you ask for? Nothing!

They have an amazing happy hour in the bar from 3-6 M-F and all day Saturday and Sunday. I tried a bunch of things -- Boneless chicken wings ($4) -- liked the traditional chicken wings better. Traditional chicken wings ($4) -- great. Chili cheese fries (with extra cheese in place of the chili) ($2) -- awesome (eat with ketchup). Potato skins with bacon and pulled pork ($4) -- great (eat with barbecue sauce). Roasted corn and green chile fritters ($5) -- great (eat with honey).

My family had told me this place was SO GOOD....and boy they we're right. Surprisingly, on a friday it wasn't as busy as I thought it would be but it flowed very well. Got sat pretty quickly after seeing a group of baseball players check in before us (thinking there would be a wait right after that but there wasn't). We sat at our table and got greeted by Kia or as they greet u Famous Kia. She was PHENOMENAL! She took great care of us and even suggested a few things on the menu. Truly cared about customer service I think she needs a raise! From our drinks, our waitress and food I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and everyone! The sauces taste wonderful (highly recommend devils spit) I got the brisket meal. My husband had a brisket burger and said it was by far one of the best burgers he's had and he eats A LOT of burgers! I recommend the sweet water catfish also! Also, if u like beer we recommend the vanilla porter! It's a dark beer and I am usually not a dark beer fan but this beer hit all the right spots with no nasty after taste! My margarita was also blended and made perfect! I wish I had taken a pic of my meal but I devoured it so quickly! Definitely, give this place a try once and twice or more if u like it!

First time attending this restaurant. I am used to real bbq coming from KC so my views might not be fair. The brisket was really good! It does rank at the top with flavor. The Ribs were burnt. Not smoky... Burnt Inquired about their cooking process and it's not one I recommend. The waitress did get me a new set but they were rubbery. Kinda like you get when you rush good bbq. The beans were ok. Fries... Good fries cornbread muffin was delicious. And I wish to add I'm not a Vinegar based sauce fan which they had a couple. Brisket and friendly staff pushed it up to 3 stars.

With a broke down car at a hotel we were staying at after a quick visit to Colorado Springs, this was my girlfriend and I's only option within walking distance for a late-night weekend dinner. We got probably what we expected... given the city we were in: Average abound. The food, atmosphere, drinks and service were all nothing to ride home about (or give five stars) but were nothing that left us dissatisfied (or wishing to give 1 star). The "A-OK" review caption of a Yelp 3-star rating fits this restaurant absolutely perfectly! I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to eat and/or drink here, but if you're caught with no other option, it will serve the purpose!

After hearing from many friends that Famous Dave is the bomb, I finally got the chance to see what the raving was all about. I had the pulled port sandwich, which was done right, thought not great. The corn bread was good but not that awesome. The brisket as dry, not tender enough, and lacking in flavor. Famous Dave is not good enough for me to make a comeback.

We come in here usually on the weekends, which is HAPPY HOUR always. We sit at the bar, and the bar crew there is excellent. We have the rib tips, nachos and fries, along with a couple of extremely cold beers, and always get out for under $22.00 for the both of us. They had a bartender in there who was just so-so last year, and now that he is on his way, they staff is super, fun and friendly. Thanks to Jen and Matt. Blues music goes on and on, and don't be turned off by the music blaring in the foyer. The level is turned down to a nice listening level in the bar.

This place has the best ribs. I love the baby back pork ribs. The corn on the cob is good, the baked beans and corn muffins they give you. The rib sauce is sweet. The people are really friendly there too. I ate here and loved it and went back home to ca and we wanted to go back to Colorado for the ribs and they finally opened one close to me here.

Went here with some folks from work for lunch. This place is pretty great. From the moment you walk in there is blues music playing in the back ground which is a tad cliche however as a lover of the blues, I say carry on Dave, carry on. They have an ample sized waiting area with fishing related decor hanging on the walls which is odd at a BBQ place. Anyway, after a 5 minute wait we were seated at a large booth that easily fit 4 grown men comfortably. Drink orders commenced (Sweat Tea for me and it was some of the best at a restaurant I have had. Just like mom used to make) One of our party mentioned the dinner plate which cost $59.99 but feeds 4-6 people. The waitress assured us that the 4 of us would be super full if we got that so we did. You know your going to be fed when a 4 pronged wood contraption is brought out before the food and placed in the center of the table. Then they bring a metal trash can lid from a 30 gallon trash can filled with food. This thing was beautiful. A meat covered trash can lid with potato wedges, corn on the cob, baked beans, cole slaw and Stevie Ray Vaughn in the back ground. There was ribs that did not quite fall off the bone, but I did not have trouble eating them. BBQ chicken that was juicy and flavorful, pulled pork that I did not try but was told was amazing , and sliced brisket that had such a lovely marinade on it that i kept going back. I will gladly go back here anytime.

OK- I may have wrote that 5 star review when I was high or my taste buds went on vacation-- Because though Famous Dave's is good- it really isn't the best and I'm sorry to have fooled people. The food is good but I'm just so sick and tired of hearing about this place. I vary rarely go their but when I do the food is meh and the service is about the same. People are so passionate about the bbq here is amazes me- and it's probably because there aren't many BBQ places to choose from in the springs- but still. This is average food. Though I will stay the corn muffins still rock- and I recently found out why they rock- because they are 600 calories- EACH- of wonderfulness. Call me crazy but after hearing that I swore them off!

The wings are the best! I had the boneless ones, and would order them over and over again. A friend of my said i had to try this place a few times... so i caved in, and happy i stopped by. Kind of a home made taste to the dishes. Its a typical western bbq place, great people.

Famous Dave's is frequently touted as the best BBQ in Colorado Springs. I took my whole family here to give it a shot. It's good BBQ. That's true. But it doesn't deserve the bombastic language that people use when describing it. There are many different kinds of BBQ sauce, which is nice. I liked it. But I didn't love it.

Good BBQ. The sandwiches and salads are nice and big. The "tall" beers are even bigger. "Big John" the bartender makes a solid manhattan, too. Corn muffins are quite tasty. Better than average. Worth checking out.

I have heard about Famous Dave's but never had the chance to experience it for my self until now. Being a serious competition BBQer I am always curious as to what these popular chains feed the general pubic to get them to come back! Dave's is another what I call "Theme Park" restaurant with replica props hanging all over the walls (which sort or reminded me of Cracker Barrel) and loud upbeat country music blaring in the background. I was greeted by a young BBW hostess as she asked me if I had ever been to Famous Dave's and I answered "no" and she goes into a prerehearsed spiel about the Famous Dave Five Sauces as she waddles in front of me to lead me to my table. My waitress who was more of a BBW waited on me and after reviewing the drink and dessert menu ordered a local draft brew. I looked carefully around the room and saw what others had ordered served on a galvanized garbage can lid! I ordered the Brisket and Ribs combo that comes with corn and two selections of sides. The brisket I was very happy to say was very good and moist and served on a white piece of bread. The ribs seemed to have been precooked and then grill-glazed and really did not have any evidence of being smoked (no smoke ring). I did muse myself by trying combinations of the different sauces that come in appropriately labeled squirt bottles! I found Dave's to be the best of the bunch. The manager comes around and then the Jr. manager follows him to ask you what you thought of your dining experience. I found this to be annoying as they did not appear to be very sincere, but right out of page three of their operating manual. So there you have it, very reasonable BBQ for the masses at reasonable prices served by BBW! May the Sauce be with Q!

Great wings, very good ribs, service is quirky and friendly, decor is roadhouse style with plenty to look at. Grab items from the expansive happy hour menu, available almost all the time, and the tab will be very friendly. Not the absolute best bbq ever but very good and very good value for money

This was my first time eating at Famous Dave BBQ in Colorado Springs. The location is very easy to get to. Plenty of parking and the beautiful Rocky Mountain view adds a very nice touch. The service was fast and pleasant. Fresh cornbread muffins that were still warm - it melted the butter almost right away...mmmm... 5 varieties of BBQ sauces, from the original Famous Dave's BBQ sauce to the super spicy Devil's Pit are available at the table for you to try out and give your dining experience a little adventure. I ordered the 2 meat BBQ plate, with beef brisket and rib tips. The brisket is juicy and tender. It fell apart even with a fork. The rib tips are also juicy and tender, they melted in my mouth almost immediately. The green beans is a bit bland compared to all other things that have so much flavor in it, and it's a bit overcooked. The baked beans, on the other hand, was very good and up to par with the bbq. The portion is also generous, I ended up with leftover that's enough for 2 more meals. Overall, it was a great first experience for me and my husband. We'll definitely go there again

What the Hell has happened to F'Dave' ??? Went there yesterday with my Son and BF, and it was the worst ever! My Son had the all U can eat rib tips. They're usually pretty good, moist tender and full of flavor. But lately that has not been the case. Yesterday's rib tips were appalling. They were stiff, and old, the meat was so tough it was inedible. When he asked for more he got five sad tips that were in much of the same condition. My BF had one of their new chicken salads. They offer it three ways and he had it pulled. Ok, it was a stringy, sickly sweet mess, drowned in something similar to Russian salad dressing n mayonnaise. The greens themselves tasted no better than the bagged stuff you can get at Walmart! I had the Brisket sandwich. Or rather I didn't TWICE! I can't begin to describe how funky, and dry the meat(?) was. My first order came naked. The meat itself was brown, crusty and flaked away into shards when I tried to cut into it. There was no saving it even after saucing it up! The replacement plate was the exact same mess, except they sauced it. It was CRAP! CRAP! CRAP! Or maybe HORSE! Worst thing is they just got a new menu! It includes exploding pecan pies and piss poor banana pooding. Heavy on the poo! This was their third strike n now I'm done! Goodbye all U can Knaw Rib Tips n lousy BBQ Brisket. Go and get drunk at Happy Hour, then I guess U won't care what they feed U! Go to RUBY'S on 31st they know how to smoke brisket and turkey. Even Bird Dog, if U can stand the styrofoam boxes.

We ordered the family platter that was suppose to be for 4. That thing was huge! It ended up feeding 6 people WITH a few left overs. The fries were good, the corn and cole slaw was good. The baked beans were good but on the salty side. The meats? Not so much. We had brisket that was very dry, the pulled pork was so salty, the chicken was okay but overly greasy, and the ribs? It was probably the only thing I liked on the platter. BBQ is southern comfort food so of course it is to be expected to have that bloating, tired feeling after a meal like this.

Average at best. My pulled pork sandwich was cold and the bun was stale. The meat was tender and tasty though. The service was ok...waited several awkward minutes for the hostess. Oh well, at least the Blue Moon on draft was cold and tasty.

The ribs were good, but the portions were extremely small for the price. I got ribs and brisket combination for around 20 bucks. For about 5 bucks I got 3 slices of brisket on top of a piece of dried out Texas Toast. I've made better tasting brisket than what was served here. It tasted like it was sitting in a crock pot all day. I'm definitely not going back to this place. I don't know how Famous Dave got so famous, but I know it's not from his brisket.

I would have to agree with the earlier reviewer that said this is the best chain BBQ in the country. Great selection. BBQ is great. Cole slaw is ok. Corn bread is wonderful.

Wish more BBQ joints were like this! I've never been a fan of BBQ restaurants because invariably the idea is "let's just overseason the crap out of this and see who eats it". There's never any finess and flavors tend to overwhelm the palate and sink to the bottom of the stomach. This place is different. It's BBQ you can actually savor. I went here with a bunch of friends for lunch last week. I decided to have the roasted chicken and ribs with two sides (beans and potato salad) along with a corn cob and corn bread. I knew it would be more than enough, but planned on having it as a second meal for the next day. Well, it was a good plan - there was more than enough food, but I took it back to the office and nibbled away on it for the rest of the afternoon until it was all gone. The beauty of my selection was that the chicken had a very mild flavor but you could douse it in any number of available sauces if you wanted. Meanwhile the ribs came cooked in the special house sauce but again, it is a flavorful one without being overpowering. The sides were tasty and not too salty which tends to be the problem with beans at joints like this. Service was very fast and friendly. I'll definitely be going back.

It was an okay experience. It was warm as warm could be, very uncomfortable atmosphere since it was so balmy. Had the 2 for 1 sample platter. Everything was doused with BBQ sauce and it was average. The corn muffins were okay. But a lot of people were there, so they must be doing something right. Just wasn't my scene.

I stumbled upon this place for the first time today and fell in love. Got the 4 BBQ sliders which are samplings of each of their meats. For me, the sausage links were the real stand out. The mac n cheese as a side was damned good but too small a portion. Maybe it's because I got sliders. Fries excellent. At least 6 kinds of bbq sauces, most of which are mighty tasty. Great decor, great service, good beer. I'll be back for the catfish fingers and more sausage links.

Yuck gross icky...wish there were negative stars... We had a $25 gift card and after walking out of our first attempt due to no service...like we waited a good 20 minutes for the large lady who obviously worked our section to give my husband and i the " oh no one has been here?" bs after i waved her over. After that and her rather off putting attitude when we ordered beers we just left. Now a month later i order to go for my kids and i figuring we could avoid the nonsense again and use the darn gift card.As a former restaurant manger I should have taken the empty parking lot as a sign...I mean it was 7:30 on a Thursday night and I saw maybe 2 non employee cars. To go girl was busy helping an older gentleman so after waiting like 10 minutes to be acknowledged the manager came out and brought our food to show us. Well we were missing an order. He runs back and returns with it. I hand over the gift card plus some cash and he says ok you are all set. Uh, yea guy owed me like a five and some change which I had to ask for??? Irritated we go home and to our now not so surprise the food was horrid. Rib tips had leather for meat. Everything tasted like it had been prepared with raw fish which is no joke so we ended up throwing it all away for fear of getting food poisoning. Horrible horrible horrible. Best part was I really only paid like $2 out of pocket. Save yourself the trouble or possible hospital visit and stay away. I did actually try to call and speak with a manager but I was not willing to hold more then 5 minutes as I knew it would not really make a difference either way. Never ever ever again! Ps....the good reviews are more then likely employees who have been told to do so...like I said I have been in the business and know bs when I read it...

When they are "on", they have the best BBQ in town. Unfortunately, their quality is not always consistent - meat sometimes too dry and not as tasty. Their brisket and ribs are my favorites and usually very good.

This is very good barbecue, but not great barbecue. I've had better in Texas and California. But there's no better barbecue in Colorado Springs (that I've found). The spare ribs are tender and flavorful, and the sides are outstanding. They offer several flavors of barbecue sauce - all of which are very good. The chili is amazing. While not as good as some of the really authentic BBQ joints you'll find around the country, it's very good for a chain.

Like others have stated, this place is good, but not great. i think Rudy's and Front Range, even the Firehouse are all better options for BBQ in the Springs. This is a chain, but the atmosphere is homey and comfortable. Service was acceptable. The beef brisket was probably the best item. The pork baby back ribs were decent. The pulled pork was dry and needed a lot more sauce. The sides are standard and just "ok" Overall, not a bad option, but not THE BEST for sure.

Dave's has always been a reasonable BBQ place that I thought was a bit pricy even for BBQ. Circumstance found me here again and I decided to have the special: All-You-Can-Eat rib tips. Hey for $9.99 that seemed the best value on the menu. Boy was I ever surprised! The rib tips were fantastic! I've never preferred the dry rub type ribs to sauced, but Dave's dry rub was out of this world! The rib tips were meaty, not too much fat or bone, and perfectly cooked. The special Southside sauce it was served with had a nice vinegary punch and the Hellfire pickles were fresh, spicy, and still had a hint of cucumber taste. The jalapeno marinated onions weren't bad, but definitley a unique flavor that would take some getting used to. All that plus your choice of a side ... I chose the Wilbur beans ... yum! I don't know if the rest of the menu has risen enough above average to justify the relatively high prices, but I will be back again, and again for the incredible value of the Southside All-you-can-eat Rib Tips!

TERRIBLE! My wife and I came here on a Tuesday night after doing some shopping in the area. There were a total of 5 groups in the dining room and 4 waiters/waitresses for service. Don't know why it took 20 minutes just for the waitress to take our drink order, another hour and a half for our food to come, why the food was stale and cold, and why the all the wait staff just seemed to be "lollygagging" around not doing anything. Extremely frustrated and hungry, we turned down the meal, paid for our drinks and left. Needless to say this event definitely goes down as one of our worst dining experiences.

Much more pleasant visit this time. I'd recommend coming here in the winter or very early spring as I did not see a single fly this time! I had the feast for one which is really enough for a feast for two. However, if you order a feast for two you're not going to get a feast for one :-)

Normally a big fan but this is not a high-quality FD's. The waiter worked hard but the rest of the wait staff was pretty disorganized - no real sign of management anywhere. The food was okay but they can do much better. Dorked my order up too.

The wings are the best! I had the boneless ones, and would order them over and over again. A friend of my said i had to try this place a few times... so i caved in, and happy i stopped by. Kind of a home made taste to the dishes. Its a typical western bbq place, great people.

I don't know how Famous Dave got so famous, but I know it's not from his brisket.

oh. my. goodness.. this place was so good.. great bbq and atmosphere. i got ribs and brisket with two sides.. all my food was delish. my only complaint about my dish was the ribs were, a little fatty. but everything else was great.... my husband had ribs and chicken tenders, his ribs were a little fatty as well, and his mashed sweet potatoes were missing, some sweetness.. but he loved the meat! there are about 6 different sauces, they are pretty good, its not the greatest ever but i am for sure a fan, and will be back.

We dine here several times a year, and it's my son's favorite restaurant. We order the BBQ Feast each time we're here: brisket, ribs, chicken and sides ... and it's more than enough for 3 hungry people. Food is consistently good and the service has always been friendly.

Much more pleasant visit this time. I'd recommend coming here in the winter or very early spring as I did not see a single fly this time! I had the feast for one which is really enough for a feast for two. However, if you order a feast for two you're not going to get a feast for one :-)

It's all right for a chain. Whenever I go it is very loud. Food okay although the ribs aren't the greatest for what you pay. Service generally very good.

Normally a big fan but this is not a high-quality FD's. The waiter worked hard but the rest of the wait staff was pretty disorganized - no real sign of management anywhere. The food was okay but they can do much better. Dorked my order up too.
